The AI that
never leaves home.
HERMIT moves a whole language model into your browser and runs it on your own GPU. It doesn't talk to servers. It doesn't talk to anyone. Pull out the wifi and it keeps answering.

The shell shop
Hermit crabs move into bigger shells as they grow. Pick yours. Bigger shells are smarter models, all running on your own GPU.

Shells download once and stay in your browser. Big shells need a graphics card with enough memory.
Pull the plug.
Drag the cable out of the socket. This page then blocks every network request it could make, and the hermit keeps chatting like nothing happened. Or just switch your wifi off. Go on.
The outbox.
Everything this page has sent anywhere since the hermit woke up, counted live by your browser.
get a bigger shell.
- FREEPlankton and Hatchling shells, for everyone, forever
- HOLDverify a wallet holding $HERMIT to unlock the Crab and Big Crab models
- BURNburn $HERMIT once for 30 days in the King Crab shell. Every burn shrinks supply
Verify your wallet to unlock higher models.
Connect your wallet and sign a free message to prove it's yours. It isn't a transaction, it costs nothing and it can't move your coins. Your balance is checked again each visit, and the check shows up in the outbox like any request.
Questions the hermit gets
Does anything I type leave my computer?
No. The model runs on your GPU inside this tab. The outbox above counts every request the page makes after the hermit wakes up. Pull the plug or switch your wifi off and watch it keep answering.
What gets downloaded?
The model files for the shell you pick, once, from the MLC project's official model repository on Hugging Face. They're stored in your browser, so the next visit is instant and works offline.
Which browsers work?
Anything with WebGPU: Chrome or Edge on desktop, recent Chrome on Android, and newer Safari. Bigger shells need more graphics memory.
Is the holder perk unbreakable?
No, and we won't pretend it is. Your wallet signature proves you own the wallet, but the shells are open models running in your browser. It's a perk for holders, not DRM.
Who made the models?
Meta (Llama 3.2), Alibaba (Qwen3) and Hugging Face (SmolLM2), compiled for the browser by the open-source MLC project. HERMIT is not affiliated with any of them.
